Yushchenko Thinks He Plays White

Viktor Yushchenko wants a broad coalition formed by NU-NS, the BYuT and the Party of Regions. Of course, such a coalition is unacceptable for Yulia Tymoshenko. First of all, she loses the role of a senior partner who can set conditions. Secondly, this contradicts her oaths to have no deals with the Party of Regions. Thirdly, this will spoil her public image as Maidan Princess.

What Is to Be Expected From Tymoshenko’s Premiership

Yulia Tymoshenko will have a hard time in the PM’s office. Firstly, she will have to deal with a very strong and well-organized opposition. That is why most of her initiatives will meet severe resistance in parliament. Secondly, she will have to prove that she received people’s support not because voters were discouraged in other political forces but because she is a real alternative to them.
