State Property Fund Head Valentyna Semenyuk in her interview to BBC said she eliminated the possibility to resell Krivorizhstal.
At the same time she added that when she had raised the question of non-fulfillment of investment commitments by Mittal Steel Company, “many national and foreign companies expressed their willingness to pay a higher price for Krivorizhstal”.
The State Property Fund claimed Mittal Steel Company for non-payment of the wage stipulated by tender agreement. “Any investor buying property in Ukraine should observe the law”, Semenyuk noted.
Director General of Mittal Steel Kryvyi Rih Narendra Choderi admitted the State Property Fund’s claims as to non-fulfillment of their investment commitments concerning wage rate and promised to improve.
But soon after Mittal Steel Kryvyi Rih owners were looking for plausible excuse in order not to fulfill their obligations. Semenyuk had to send her claims to German and Krivyi Rih offices.
After such blistering attack of the State Property Fund top managers of Mittal Steel yielded, promising to meet investment commitments even before the target date.
Semenyuk also declared she would not clutch at her post of the SPF head. “I have been working in the parliament for 11 years and have no problem with job propositions either. If with my qualification I come back there I will make executives boil”, she noted.
