The Verkhovna Rada dismissed Viktor Yanukovych from the office of prime minister.
The decision was supported by 226 coalition members.
The Accounts Commission confirmed the result. Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk signed the resolution regarding Mr. Yanukovych’s dismissal.
Messrs. Plyushch and Spodarenko from the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense Bloc were absent. Mr. Yatsenyuk claimed that Mr. Spodarenko’s deputy card did not vote during the Rada’s session and that is why there was no violation of the Parliamentary Rules of Procedure.
The Rada decided to continue working until a new Cabinet is elected.
