Anatoliy Hrytsenko, the ex-Minister of Defense, declares that Yulia Tymoshenko agreed to support his nomination for a position of a Head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security and defense.

Mr. Hrytsenko stated this on the air of “Svoboda Slova” TV program on ICTV TV channel.

“Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, the leader of our faction, offered me to head the committee, and Yulia Tymoshenko being appointed as a prime minister promised to support my nomination,” said Mr. Hrytsenko.

As known, this position belongs to Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, and not to Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense Bloc.

Mr. Hrytsenko stressed that if he were appointed as the committee head he would deal with an issue of security of Ukrainian energy supply.

“The issue of energy resources is an issue of relations with Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan,” said Mr. Hrytsenko. He stressed that the state should not deal with issues of gas supply for private enterprises.
