The Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych considers repeated early parliamentary election to be the only way out of the situation if the government is not efficient.
“Everything will depend on the activities of authorities,” he stated in an interview to Inter TV channel, which was broadcast on Sunday.
“If it is efficient, nobody will hamper its activities. Let it work during the defined term,” noted Mr. Yanukovych.
“But if it is not efficient, if we see that it is incapable of working properly, there will be no other way out. Because it is impossible to create another format of coalition in this parliament,” he stressed.
At the same time, Mr. Yanukovych noted that he “spent several days in parliament.” “I saw that most MPs are even-tempered. There are some babblers and radicals, but the parliament has always had such people,” he said.
Mr. Yanukovych also stressed that he does not “envy” the work of government and coalition because it has an advantage of only one or two votes.
“But we will not put any obstacles in the way of coalition if it offers a tangible plan of country development, if there are real steps instead of loud populist slogans,” said ex-Prime Minister.
