If the Party of Regions faction does not submit its proposals on personal staffing of the committees to the Verkhovna Rada by 10 AM on Wednesday, the decree signed by the other four factions will be presented for parliamentary review.
It had been announced by the head of parliament Arseniy Yatsenyuk before he closed the evening session of the Verkhovna Rada.
“Four factions have fully coordinated personal staffing of the committees. The distribution was arranged by BYuT, NU-NS, Communist Party and Lytvyn Bloc,” noted the head of the Verkhovna Rada.
“The Party of Regions has not settled this issue so far. They ask for one more meeting of their faction to finally arrange personal staffing of the committees tonight,” he added.
According to Mr. Yatsenyuk, “Mykola Yanovych Azarov has committed to submit the final draft decree to the Verkhovna Rada at 9 AM tomorrow.”
The speaker informed that “to encourage the Party of Regions to reach final decision” the following proposal was supported:
“We are again waiting for the coordinated decision of the Party of Regions. If this decision does not come in tomorrow at 10 AM, the Verkhovna Rada will review a draft decree signed by four factions.”
“I think that it is a just decision. Let them finish their work, they have a big faction,” added Mr. Yatsenyuk.
In addition, he informed that a session of the Cabinet of Ministers is scheduled for 11 AM on Wednesday, “because faction leaders will most likely go to this session as an issue of utmost importance is to be reviewed there, which is draft budget for 2008.”
“Therefore, we are meeting at 10 AM, we hope to produce a decree signed by five factions and we briefly vote for it. After that we organize committee work in the Verkhovna Rada, and faction leaders go to the Cabinet of Ministers session,” explained Mr. Yatsenyuk.
According to him, the next session of the Verkhovna Rada is scheduled for Thursday.
