Party of Regions (PRU) member Anatoliy Tolstoukhov claims that newly-appointed National Security and Defence Council Secretary Rayisa Bohatyryova will be expelled from the party.
If she does not submit resignation in the coming days, the PRU’s Political Council will do so itself.
“Mrs. Bohatyryova should choose whether to stay in the party or become a civil servant. It seems that she prefers the latter at the moment when the party became the opposition. She knew that the decision is incompatible with the PRU membership.”
It is widely known that on December 24 President Yushchenko appointed Mrs. Bohatyryova NSDC secretary.
On December 25, the PRU recommended her to refuse the office because the party is in the opposition.
On December 26, the PRU announced that it will not penalize Mrs. Bohatyryova. She will only be ousted from the PRU top offices.
On December 27, the PRU appointed Oleksandr Yefremov deputy faction leader instead of Mrs. Bohatyryova.
