President Viktor Yushchenko signed the Law on the 2008 State Budget and making amendments to some laws, according to the President’s press-service.
On December 28, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Budget as a whole having considered the proposals of the Budget Committee and those made by MPs during the document’s discussion at the Friday plenary session.
235 MPs supported the Budget: 156 from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, 71 from the Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defence Bloc and 8 from the Communist Party. The Lytvyn Bloc and Party of Regions’ MPs did not vote.
