He presented his viewpoint in the article published by Dzerkalo Tyzhnya Saturday.
According to Yanukovych, the agreement should be signed by the president, the PM and leaders of all political forces represented in the Verkhovna Rada of the fifth convocation.
“Unfortunately, amendments to the election legislation adopted by the Verkhovna Rada do not solve all problems. To make this early election democratic we need a new political agreement and new guarantees of mutual trust,” said the PM.
“We already have problems in the work of the Central Election Commission. There are several potential problems like formation of the district electoral commission,” he pointed out.
According to Mr. Yanukovych, this document must outline mutual commitments not to block the work of the Central Election Commission, principles of the non-conflict formation of the district electoral commissions and commitment to recognize the official election outcome announced by the Central Election Commission.
“We will have another crisis if we do not sign such an agreement,” warned Mr. Yanukovych.
“Having the precedent, the minority can take advantage of it and block the work of parliament with all subsequent consequences,” he assumed.
According to him, parties that were not represented in the Verkhovna Rada of the fifth convocation may also join the agreement.
