Central Election Commission (CEC) invalidated participation of President Viktor Yushchenko in election campaign for Our Ukraine—People’s Self-Defense Bloc (NU-NS) and obliged him to abstain from agitation during the election campaign.
CEC considered a complaint of the Socialist Party of Ukraine and made such decision at the session on the night on Friday/Saturday.
Central Election Commission held that Mr. Yushchenko brought the law while participating in the election campaign with agitation for NU-NS. He infringed the voting rights of the citizens, rights and interests of the election process subjects.
CEC obliged Mr. Yushchenko to abstain from participation in the election campaign.
