Rayisa Bohatyryova was a potential presidential candidate worthy of consideration for endorsement and support by the Party of Regions. Yushchenko;s appointment of her to the Security Council removes her from the public spot light and effectly rules her out as a candidate. As Secetary of the star chamber she is compromised and unable to publicly oppose the actions of the president. Rayisa's motives in excepting the position is anyones guess. She has effively betrayed her party.
