Friday, 26 August 2016, 00:46

When choosing the country’s direction of integration, over half of Ukrainians (51%) choose joining the European Union, according to the results of a study performed by Research & Branding Group, Interfax Ukraine reports.

According to the study, only 13% would choose the opposite direction — entering the Customs Union with Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Other respondents would opt for not joining any unions (27%) or were undecided on their answer (9%).

The study also showed that in the past seven months, four out of ten Ukrainians (40-42%) have declared they are ready to use the opportunities arising from prospective visa-free travel with the EU.

The study was performed on July 7-15 among the citizens of Ukraine (except the occupied Crimea and non-government controlled areas in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts). 1795 respondents were selected by quota sampling that represents the adult population of Ukraine by region, sex, and age. The expected average sampling error is  ± 2.4%.
