Quote from Khaustov: "Only a girl was let through (to Kharkiv - ed.). All the others are in Kupiansk Central Regional Hospital (Kupiansk is temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation - ed.). The child is with her father in Kharkiv. There are reports that many are seriously injured. Their condition is unknown."

Details: The fact of the shelling was also confirmed in a comment to Suspilne by the head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, Oleh Synehubov.

At the same time, according to preliminary data from volunteers and advisers to Popova, the head of Kharkiv regional council, two people were killed in the city.

The Ukrainian authorities cannot quickly determine the number of casualties, as Balaklia is under Russian occupation. Since early May, Russian occupiers have blocked civilian entry and exit from the city.

Representatives of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration previously reported that in some occupied settlements in the region, the Russian occupiers were organising provocations to accuse theUkrainian Armed Forces of crimes against civilians.

Background: A woman was killed and a man was injured as a result of attacks in the Derhachi hromada (amalgamated territorial community) yesterday on 24 May.
