Prime Minister Denis Shmygal: Ukraine’s losses amount to much more than $1 trillion

Ukraine’s total direct and indirect losses from Russia's invasion will be well over $ 1 trillion.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal in an interview with BBC News Ukraine.

According to him, there are different calculation methodologies.

"There is a direct one - let's say, a specific bridge is destroyed. We calculate the cost of its restoration and estimate the destruction of physical infrastructure, physical buildings. This is one amount.

Of course, there are business losses from downtime. There are business losses from the destruction of supply chains. For example, seaports are closed, railway stations are destroyed, energy infrastructure is destroyed. All these costs add up to huge sums," the prime minister explained.
