Russia conducts assault operations in attempt to regain lost positions on Kharkiv front – General Staff report

Russian occupying forces are conducting assault operations on the Kochubeivka – Dementiivka front in order to regain the positions they had earlier lost to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details: According to the available information, on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, mobilisation exercises of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus have been extended until 9 July 2022 (earlier it was announced that the exercises would last from 22 June until 1 July). As part of the exercises, military commissariats in Gomel Oblast are handing out summonses. In addition, doctors have been forbidden to leave Belarus.

On the Sivershchyna front, Russia continues to deploy up to three battalion tactical groups from the 1st Tank Army and the 20th Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District, as well as airborne units, in order to cover the Russian-Ukrainian border in Bryansk and Kursk oblasts (Russia). Russian forces fired on the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in border-adjacent regions of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts.

Russia has deployed electronic warfare in towns and villages in Belgorod Oblast (Russia) situated near the Russian-Ukrainian border in order to disrupt command and communication systems of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

On the Kharkiv front, units of Russian troops are focusing their efforts on pinning down Ukrainian forces and preventing them from advancing further. Russian troops conducted assault operations on the Kochubeivka – Dementiivka front in order to retake the positions they had lost earlier.

In addition, Russian forces fired on the areas around Zolochiv, Ruska Lozova, Khrestyshche, Peremoha, Dementiivka, Verkhnii Saltiv, Molodova, Staryi Saltiv, Korobochkine, Zamulivka, Velyka Babka, Volobuivka, and Malynivka. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes near Verkhnii Saltiv, Prudianka and Mospanove.

Russia is conducting defence operations on the Sloviansk front. Russian forces attempted to storm Bohorodychne, but were unsuccessful. They fired artillery on the areas around Dolyna, Dibrivne, Kurulka, Mazanivka, Bohorodychne, Krasnopillia, Adamivka, Sukha Kamianka, Husarivka and Krynychne.

Russian forces are also attempting to improve their logistical supply systems on the Sloviansk front.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russia used tubed and rocket artillery to fire on the areas around Bilohorivka, Maiaky and Donetske, and on Zolotarivka and Verkhniokamianske on the Lysychansk front. Russian troops made an unsuccessful attempt to advance on Verkhniokamianske.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired on the areas in the vicinity of Vershyna, Bakhmut and Spirne with mortars and tubed and rocket artillery and conducted airstrikes in the area of Vershyna. 

On the Avdiivka, Kurkahove, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian occupying forces used artillery of various calibres to fire on Shumy, New-York, Zalizne, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Marinka, Pavlivka, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Shevchenko, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv and Zaliznychne. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes on Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russia’s efforts are focused on maintaining its previously occupied positions and preventing the Ukrainian Defence Forces from advancing. Russian forces shelled the areas around Partyzanske, Kobzartsi, Prybuzke, Tavriiske, Stepova Dolyna, Posad-Pokrovske, Trudoliubivka, Mykolaivka, Potiomkyne and Lupareve.

Russian occupation authorities and their collaborators are concerned by the resistance put up by local populations, which is ramping up, especially in Kherson Oblast. Russian occupation leaders are wearing body armour and moving around in armoured vehicles accompanied by a large number of security guards. Local residents continue to put up total resistance.
