Russia launches large-scale strike on Kremenchuk: disruptions to power, water supply and heating reported

Russian forces carried out a large-scale combined attack on civilian infrastructure facilities in the city of Kremenchuk in Poltava Oblast on the night of 6-7 December.

Quote: "Another large-scale combined strike on Kremenchuk's infrastructure facilities.

At the moment, some districts of the city are experiencing disruptions to electricity and water supply and heating. All municipal services are working around the clock to restore critical systems as quickly as possible."

Details: The mayor noted that official and verified information on the aftermath of the strike will be published by Poltava Oblast Military Administration once the assessment of the situation is complete.

Background:

  • On the night of 6-7 December, an air-raid warning was issued across Ukraine due to the take-off of a Russian MiG-31K fighter jet, the carrier of the Kinzhal air-to-surface ballistic missile.
  • Ukraine's Air Force had reported missiles moving towards Kremenchuk, and the city was also attacked by Russian drones throughout the night.
