Details: Zelenskyy said that the Russian strike effectively destroyed the National Chornobyl Museum. The National Art Museum of Ukraine was also damaged, as was the building that housed an office of German broadcaster ARD.

The president said he had already spoken with his French counterpart and the prime minister of Norway and was preparing for further conversations.

Klymenko reported that around 50 locations across Kyiv were damaged, including apartment blocks, houses, shopping centres, educational institutions, a market, office buildings of the State Emergency Service and the police, as well as the National Chornobyl Museum.

The minister said that engineering, robotic and unmanned equipment had been deployed to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Quote from Klymenko: "At many locations, the large scale of the fires poses a danger to rescue workers, and one of the damaged buildings suffered a secondary structural collapse in the morning.

In the first minutes after the strikes, rescue workers evacuated 12 people from a damaged accommodation. Dozens more residents were helped out of apartment buildings engulfed in flames.

Facilities belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs system were also affected by the overnight attack, including the buildings of a district police department and a regional State Emergency Service directorate. While firefighters were tackling the blaze in one of the buildings, operators in shelters continued receiving reports from citizens."

Background: Buildings housing a theatre, a philharmonic hall, two museums, a library, universities, a church, a monastery and architectural landmarks in Kyiv sustained damage during the Russian attack on the night of 23-24 May.
