Utility worker injured by Russian mine in central Kherson

A 67-year-old utility worker has been injured stepping on a Russian mine in the central part of Kherson, sustaining serious injuries, including the loss of a foot.

Quote: "At approximately 10:50, a utility worker detonated a Russian mine in the central part of Kherson. The 67-year-old Kherson resident stepped on a 'pryannyk' [butterfly mine], the detonation of which caused him blast injuries, a closed traumatic brain injury, concussion, and amputation of the foot."

Details: The man was taken to hospital, where he is receiving the necessary medical assistance. The oblast military administration once again called on residents to observe mine safety rules: not to approach suspicious objects, not to touch them, and to report finds to rescue workers or police on numbers 101 or 102.

Background: On 8 June, three people were killed and 24 injured, including a child, as a result of Russian attacks in Donetsk Oblast and Kherson Oblast.
