The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (GPU) has called former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to participate in the proceedings of a criminal case. The related letter of summons has been published on the GPU’s website.

According to the letter, Azarov has to arrive to the military prosecutor’s office by 2pm on August 9 to participate in the proceedings in criminal case № 12013220540000400 dated 2013.01.31 on appropriation by the criminal organization headed by ousted president Viktor Yanukovych of property belonging to Ukrnafta and Ukrgazvydobuvannia (UGV) with total worth of over ₴2 billion in 2010–2014.

The Head of the Special Investigations Department of GPU Serhiy Horbatiuk said earlier that there is more and more evidence in cases of former Yanukovych era officials, but Interpol is slowing down prosecution.
