Members of the Cabinet of Ministers headed by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and the leaders of factions and groups in the Verkhovna Rada have agreed to create a working group to analyze gas pricing in Ukraine, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

Groysman said that the working group will be created for one week and include one representative of each group or faction of the Ukrainian parliament who have enough professional expertise to properly analyze gas pricing.

The Prime Minister said that the new unified gas price helps prevent illegal schemes and corruption and the money goes straight to the state budget. He added that asking to decrease the price was political games: "We need to fight not for lower rates, as lower rates kill the economics, but for an increase of the income of the people."

The Batkivshchyna and Radical Party factions blocked the tribune at the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, July 5, demanding lower gas prices.
