A statement purportedly from separatist leader of the so-called ‘Luhansk People’s Republic’ (LNR) Igor Plotnitsky claiming he is back to work and blaming his assassination attempt on ‘the enemies of Donbas,’ has been published by the Luhansk Information Center, an information resource of the militants.

The statement also says that he immediately "gave all necessary orders for ensuring everyday life and defense of the Republic" and calls the attack on him and the information about the severity of his injuries "manifestation of impotent anger" and envy. "Even from much better starting conditions, they [our enemies] lose and ruin everything. And we create and gain despite all problems and dangers. That is why they shell us not only with their mines and projectiles, but also with poisonous rumors," he reportedly said.

The car of the leader of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic Igor Plotnitsky was blown up in occupied Luhansk on the morning of Saturday, August 6.

Presidential Administration spokesperson on the ATO Oleksandr Motuzianyk said that the Ukrainian side was not involved in the assassination attempt.
