Direct speech: "The Russians are destroying Sievierodonetsk like they did Mariupol. Fighting is taking place on the outskirts of the city."

Details: the head of the Oblast Military Administration also said that the amalgamated territorial community (hromada) of Hirska is being bombed daily by aircraft.

"The enemy's plans are to surround the region or set fire to it, as they did in Popasna," Haidai is convinced.

"This is the difficult fate of the Luhansk region: to prevent the Russians from moving further," the note says.

Updated. Later, Haidai said that in the morning of 20 May, the Russians fired at a school in the basement of which residents of new districts of Sievierodonetsk had been hiding since the beginning of the war.

As a result, two people were killed on the spot, and three more were hospitalised. The two dead and the wounded are members of the same family.

In the evening, a man and a woman were killed near their home in Sievierodonetsk. Two women were killed by Russian shelling in Lysychansk and Pryvillia.

And a volunteer who worked at the humanitarian headquarters in Sievierodonetsk was wounded in the leg.

In total, about 50 houses were destroyed during the day.

In addition, the Russians opened fire on the school and on the Azot Chemical Plant. A cooling tower at the plant caught fire, but the fire was extinguished, and the flames did not spread to the nearby production halls.

In Lysychansk, a coal bunker caught fire at a mine.

Reminder: The head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, considers that statements by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu about plans to seize the Luhansk region are nonsense. According to Haidai, Shoigu does not understand the real state of affairs in the Russian army.
