The Russian army "has deployed all of its reserves" to capture the city of Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast.

Source: Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, quoted by CNN

Details: Earlier, Russian troops had captured the majority of the city, but Ukrainian troops have pushed them back.

According to Haidai, Russian forces attempted to destroy bridges "to prevent the arrival of reinforcements for our guys in Sievierodonetsk, our guys defending Luhansk Oblast…They [the Russians - ed.] are really afraid that our defenders will be able to build on their earlier success, which will be possible if ammunition, weapons, and reinforcements arrive on time. This is the number one thing they [the Russians - ed.] are afraid of."

Currently, the Ukrainian forces have reclaimed control over nearly half of Sievierodonetsk.

The humanitarian situation in the region remains difficult since it has been impossible to either evacuate Sievierodonetsk residents or deliver humanitarian aid. The only cities where humanitarian aid (food, medicines) can still be delivered are Lysychansk and Hirske.

It is reported that the Russian forces are firing on evacuation buses.

Background: Fighting is continuing on the streets of Sievierodonetsk. Russian occupation forces have forcibly deported some Sievierodonetsk residents to Russian-held territory.
