IRYNA BALACHUK – SATURDAY, 30 JULY 2022, 08:33

The advance of the Russian army in Luhansk Oblast has lost much of its steam since Ukraine received a shipment of HIMARS [multiple rocket launchers - ed.] and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun to deploy them to target Russian ammunition depots.

Quote: "International support, including the supply of HIMARS, is not yet sufficient for us to launch a counteroffensive, but the destruction of [Russian] ammunition depots has meant that it has become a lot more difficult for the enemy forces to replenish their ammunition supplies and to manoeuvre. As you can see, their advance has been much less swift in the last month.

The occupiers made attempts to storm Donetsk Oblast throughout July. One such attempt was repelled near Verkhnokamianske just yesterday [29 July - ed.]. Our soldiers detected a [Russian] reconnaissance group in good time, fired on it, and forced it to retreat."

Details: Haidai said that Russian forces retreated on five other fronts [in Luhansk Oblast - ed.] where they attempted to break through the Ukrainian defences.

He added that the Russians are continuing to destroy Ukrainian towns and villages with their tubed and rocket artillery.

For example, Russian forces launched seven rockets, conducted seven artillery and one tank attack, and deployed mortars on just one area of the front in Luhansk Oblast on 29 July.

In addition, Russian forces continue to dominate the skies over Luhansk Oblast and conducted at least six airstrikes on the oblast’s towns and villages on 29 July.
