Zelenskyy makes series of dismissals in Security Service of Ukraine top management

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed Oleksandr Yakushev, Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), two heads of departments of the secret service, and heads of the SSU in two oblasts.

Details: In particular, Ihor Nosok, Head of the SSU Department of State Secrets Protection and Licensing, and Oleksandr Provotorov, Head of the SSU Department of Economic Support, were dismissed.

Oleh Khramov has been appointed to replace Nosok.

Zelenskyy also removed Borys Bezrukyi from the office of Head of the SSU in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Eduard Fedorov from the office of Head of the SSU in Sumy Oblast.

Another person has been appointed to replace Fedorov. Oleh Krasnoshapka became the new Head of the SSU in Sumy Oblast.

  • On 7 February, Verkhovna Rada approved the appointment of Vasyl Maliuk to the post of Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
  • In July 2022, Verkhovna Rada voted to dismiss SSU Head Ivan Bakanov.
