Court ‘Requests to Investigate SBU Attack on Journalists’
A court has again requested the Military Prosecutor’s Office renew criminal investigation of a case when Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officers obstructed the activities of journalists of the ‘Schemes’ show [Ukr: "Схеми"]. He reminded that the Military Prosecutor’s Office had closed the investigation because it had not acknowledged any criminal wrongdoing in a video record of the attack. "In April the court requested to renew the investigation. But on the very next day after receiving the court decision the prosecutor’s office closed it again. Today the court ruled for the second time in favor of renewing the criminal investigation," Tkach noted.
The story started on October 2, 2015, when SBU officers were videotaped using force against journalists who were shooting a video about expensive cars of the Service’s officials.
