Explosions were reported  in the Podil district of Kyiv on Sunday evening.

Details: Ukrainian Air Defence has shot down an enemy missile, according to preliminary information.

Kyiv Mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko said that several explosions took place in the Podil district.

According to the latest reports, some residential buildings and shopping centre facilities had been damaged, he said.

Emergency service responders, medical professionals and police are working on the spot.

Klitschko later added that one person had died.

Emergency services are extinguishing a major fire in one of the shopping centres in the Podil district of the capital.

Updated: Subsequently, the State Emergency Service reported that cars on the car park and floors 3-4 of the shopping centre had caught fire.

According to emergency services, at 2:18 a.m. the fire was localised over a total area of 1,500 square metres. It is still in the process of being extinguished.

At the scene, 4 people were killed and 1 injured. Information is being confirmed.
