Details: Police officials have urged residents to report cases involving the discovery or detection of Russian military equipment or ammunition to the police.

Police officers in Poltava are investigating 31 criminal cases under Article 263 (section 1) (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The article stipulates a penalty of 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.

Ukrainians are advised to report to the police if they find weapons, ammunition, military equipment or other dangerous or suspicious objects in woodland, forests, fields or at the roadside.

The police also advise people against carrying or storing enemy equipment and ammunition at home, and to voluntarily hand these over to police officers. This equipment is being used by the defenders against the invaders.
