Over 6,500 people evacuated through humanitarian corridors

6,665 people were evacuated through humanitarian corridors on Friday, April 8.

Details: 5,158 people arrived in Zaporizhzhia from Mariupol and Berdyansk in their personal vehicles and evacuation buses on Friday. 1,614 of them are from Mariupol.

3,544 people arrived from the towns of Zaporizhzhia Oblast: Polohy, Vasylivka, Berdyansk, Tokmak, Melitopol, Enerhodar, Orikhiv and Huliaipole.

Verbatim: "The occupying forces have been holding 8 evacuation buses for 24 hours in the city of Melitopol. We are negotiating to return these buses and to provide an opportunity for local residents to evacuate in accordance with the agreements."

More details: Iryna Vereshchuk also said that a convoy of buses, sent to Berdyansk from Zaporizhzhia in the morning in order to evacuate residents, continued to move along the route.

1,507 people were evacuated from the cities of Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, Kreminna and Hirs’ke village in the Luhansk region.

"Tomorrow we shall continue our work on the humanitarian corridor for Mariupol and the blocked towns of Zaporizhzhia region, as well as on the evacuation of people from the towns of Luhansk region," said the deputy prime minister.
