Blinken in Kyiv pets Patron the dog

Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of State, made an unannounced visit to Kyiv and met with a Ukrainian celebrity – Patron, a military dog.

Details: The meeting took place in the "Okhmadyt" children’s hospital, where the Ukrainian children injured as a result of Russian aggression are being rehabilitated.
Blinken gave a toy dog as a present to Maryna, a 6-year old patient. The girl came to Kyiv from the Kherson region.
Previously: On 8 September, Antony Blinken came to Kyiv unannounced. He plans to meet Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, and visit settlements near Kyiv.
Background: Patron the Dog, a Jack Russell terrier, is a social media celebrity and a talisman of the Chernihiv mine clearing experts.
At the end of May, in Cannes, Patron received the most prestigious movie award for animals. In July two veteran organisations of the USA also awarded the dog with honorary awards.
