Mykhailo Podoliak, the adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has criticised the recent awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to representatives of Russia and Belarus.

Quote from Podoliak: "The Nobel Committee clearly has an interesting interpretation of the word ‘peace’ if representatives of two countries that attacked a third receive the Nobel Prize together."
Details: He pointed out that neither the Russian nor the Belarusian parties had been able to organise resistance to the war. "This year's Nobel [Prize winners’ selection] is just awesome," Podoliak quipped.
Reminder: It is the second time in a row that the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to representatives of Russia. In 2021, the prize went to Dmitry Muratov, the founder and editor of the independent opposition newspaper Novaya Gazeta.
Previously: On 7 October, it was announced that the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the Belarusian political prisoner Ales Bialiatski, the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties, and the Russian human rights organisation Memorial.
