Background

  • In December 2022, the Yavora District Court of Lviv found the mayor of Chernihiv, Vladyslav Atroshenko, guilty of a conflict of interests and deprived him of the right to hold the position of mayor for a year. The court made this decision due to the fact that Atroshenko instructed his driver to take his wife's car abroad.
  • On 27 January, the Lviv Court of Appeal was supposed to consider an appeal against the decision to remove Vladyslav Atroshenko from the post of mayor of Chernihiv; heads of 30 cities came to support the mayor, but the meeting was postponed to 1 February.
