Grain initiative: 360,000 tonnes of food sent from Ukrainian ports on weekend

During the weekend, more than 10 vessels with over 360,000 tonnes of agricultural products for Africa, Asia and Europe left the ports of Velyka Odesa [the Odesa city agglomeration along the Black Sea coast – ed.].

In addition to this, the fifth vessel with the Ukrainian grain on board left the port in the direction of Africa within the framework of the Grain From Ukraine program.

The VALSAMITIS bulk carrier with 25,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat for Kenya and 5,000 tonnes for Ethiopia left the Chornomorsk port.

The ROYAL STAR bulk carrier, chartered by the UN World Food Program, left the Odesa port. It will deliver 25,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to Afghanistan.

In total, 757 vessels, which exported 21.9 million tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa, have left the ports of Velyka Odesa since 1 August.
