Ukraine's Border Guard shoots down Russian Su-25 jet over Bakhmut

Ukrainian border guards shot down a Russian jet aircraft near Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, on 7 February.

Details: It is reported that the Russian jet aircraft was providing air cover for infantry advancing on the Ukrainian line of defence.

The Russian warplane, presumably a Su-25, was shot down by a man-portable air defence system. The jet aircraft caught fire and crashed, the fate of the pilot is unknown.
