Quote: "For each such direction, the National Security and Defence Council issued the necessary protocol instructions. I am sure that all of them can be fulfilled. Today is exactly one year since Ukraine acquired the status of a candidate for accession to the European Union, and this year the goal is to start membership negotiations. Ukraine will definitely do its part," Zelenskyy assured.

On Thursday, the European Commission presented an oral assessment of Ukraine's progress towards the EU. The European Commission believes that Ukraine has fully implemented two out of seven conditions necessary to open accession negotiations, and progress has been made on the remaining conditions.

The government predicts that Ukraine will fulfil the rest of the EU candidate recommendations by October.
