Russia focuses efforts on 5 key fronts – General Staff report

Over the course of the past day, Russian forces have focused their main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, where 30 clashes occurred between Russian and Ukrainian forces.

Details: Russian forces carried out a rocket strike on an infrastructure facility in the southern city of Mykolaiv, conducted 48 airstrikes and deployed multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) in 60 further attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops and on civilian settlements. Several civilians sustained injuries and a number of infrastructure facilities were damaged in these attacks.

Russia is focusing its main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, where heavy fighting continues; a total of 30 combat engagements occurred between Russian and Ukrainian forces on these fronts over the course of the day.

Russia continues to maintain its forces on the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts. Over the course of the past 24 hours, Russian forces conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Basove, Odnorobivka and Veterynarne (Kharkiv Oblast) and deployed mortars and artillery to fire on more than 10 civilian settlements, including Hirsk (Chernihiv Oblast); Chuikivka (Sumy Oblast); and Udy, Veterynarne, Ohirtseve and Zemlianky (Kharkiv Oblast).

Ukrainian forces are holding the line on the Kupiansk front. Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka and Kyslivka (Kharkiv Oblast) came under Russian fire.

On the Lyman front, Russian forces conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Terny, Zvanivka, Rozdolivka and Bilohorivka (Donetsk Oblast) and shelled Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Torske, Verkhnokamianske, Ivano-Darivka, Berestove, Vesele and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Bakhmut front, Ukraine’s defence forces repelled Russian artillery-supported assaults on Hryhorivka (Donetsk Oblast). Russian forces carried out airstrikes near Druzhba and Toretsk. Ten settlements, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Oleksandro-Shultyne and Pivdenne (Donetsk Oblast) came under Russian fire.

On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian forces are continuing to prevent Russian forces from advancing in the vicinity of Sievierne (Donetsk Oblast). Russian forces conducted an airstrike near Avdiivka and shelled over 10 civilian settlements, including Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Marinka front, Ukrainian forces repelled all Russian attempts to advance near Marinka and Krasnohorivka. The Russians conducted an airstrike near Krasnohorivka and shelled more than 10 civilian settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Pobieda (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast). They carried out an airstrike near Odradne and shelled a total of more than 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Storozheve and Blahodatne (Donetsk Oblast).

Russian forces on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts are focusing their efforts on preventing Ukrainian forces from advancing. They shelled over 20 civilian settlements, including Novodarivka, Levadne, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne and Orikhiv (Zaporizhzhia Oblast) and Beryslav, Kozatske, Lvove, Antonivka, Inzhenerne, Dniprovske and Kherson (Kherson Oblast). Meanwhile, Ukraine’s defence forces continued to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, where they are consolidating the positions they had previously captured.

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 15 airstrikes on areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated. Ukraine’s defence forces also destroyed three Russian reconnaissance drones.

Units from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck one Russian command post, three clusters of Russian military personnel, an ammunition storage point, an electronic warfare system, seven field artillery units, and an anti-aircraft defence system.
