39 combat engagements between Ukrainians and Russians occur over past day – General Staff report

On 15 July, 39 combat engagements took place between the Ukrainian Defence Forces and the Russian occupation troops on five fronts.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Federation fired two Iranian-made Shahed UAVs, two Kh-22 cruise missiles and two anti-aircraft guided missiles at Ukraine. As a result of combat operations, Ukraine's air defence forces destroyed two attack UAVs.

In addition, the enemy carried out 40 air strikes and fired from multiple-launch rocket systems 46 times.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, where 39 combat engagements took place over the past day."

Details: The situation on the Volyn and Polissia fronts remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russian forces kept their military presence. They launched airstrikes near Volfyne (Sumy Oblast) and Ustynivka (Kharkiv Oblast) over the course of the past 24 hours. They also deployed mortars and artillery to fire on more than 20 civilian settlements, including Karpovychi and Zaliznyi Mist (Chernihiv Oblast); Boiaro-Lezhachi, Bilokopytove and Prohres (Sumy Oblast); and Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Kozacha Lopan, Veterynarne and Krasne (Kharkiv Oblast).

Ukrainian forces are holding the line on the Kupiansk front. Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations to the south of Novoselivske (Luhansk Oblast), where their aircraft struck as well. The settlements of Dvorichna, Krasne Pershe, Kolodiazne, Zapadne, Novomlynsk, Kyslivka and Berestove (Kharkiv Oblast) came under Russian mortar and artillery fire.

On the Lyman front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations to the east of Vesele (Donetsk Oblast). They also carried out airstrikes in and around Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Spirne, Vesele, Ivano-Darivka, Fedorivka and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast). The Russians shelled Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Bakhmut front, the Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled all Russian attacks to the southwest of Andriivka (Donetsk Oblast). The Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Kostianytivka and Dyliivka (Donetsk Oblast). Over 15 settlements, including Markove, Khromove, Dyliivka, Vasiukivka and Pivnichne (Donetsk Oblast), came under Russian artillery fire.

On the Avdiivka front, the Russians carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinity of Pervomaiske and launched an airstrike near New-York (Donetsk Oblast). At the same time, Russian forces shelled more than 15 civilian settlements, including Nevelske, Pervomaiske, Stepove, Sieverne and Avdiivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Marinka front, Ukrainian forces continued to hold back the offensive of Russian troops in the area of Marinka where the Russians carried out an air attack as well. The Russians shelled more than 10 civilian settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Katerynivka and Heorhiivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka and carried out airstrikes near Blahodatne, Makarivka and Rivnopil (Donetsk Oblast). They shelled Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva and Blahodatne.

Russian forces on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts are focusing their efforts on preventing Ukrainian forces from advancing. They carried out airstrikes in and around Mykilske (Kherson Oblast). The Russians shelled over 25 civilian settlements, including Levadne, Novodarivka and Huliaipole (Zaporizhzhia Oblast); Ivanivka and Kutsurub (Mykolaiv Oblast); Kherson, Dniprovske, Zolota Balka, Molodizhne, Romashkove and Kizomys (Kherson Oblast). 

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s defence forces continued to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, where they are consolidating the positions they had previously captured, striking Russian targets with artillery and engaging in counter-battery fire.

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out nine airstrikes on areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated. They also downed seven reconnaissance UAVs of the Russians. 

Units of Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck four clusters of Russian military personnel, two ammunition storage points, five field artillery units, two air defence systems, four electronic warfare stations and three other important facilities of the Russians.
