Zelenskyy signs laws on exemption of anti-drone guns and thermal imagers from customs duties

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed draft laws Nos 9467 and 9468, which exempt a number of defence goods imported into Ukraine from VAT and customs payments.

Verkhovna Rada [Ukrainian parliament – ed.] adopted these two draft laws on 28 July. They allow a number of goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine to be exempt from VAT and customs duties. These goods are:

  • thermal imaging binoculars;
  • monoculars;
  • binoculars;
  • night vision devices;
  • rangefinders.

In May, Verkhovna Rada approved draft laws Nos 9275 and 9276, which allow components for the production and repair of UAVs imported during martial law to be exempt from VAT and customs duties.
