A Russian Shahed drone attacked an educational institution in the settlement of Romny in Sumy Oblast at 10:00 on Wednesday. A school’s principal, a deputy principal, a secretary and a librarian were killed in the strike.

Details: Sumy Oblast Military Administration adds that the building of the institution has been completely destroyed. All appropriate services are working at the scene. A headquarters for dealing with the aftermath has also been deployed there.

Update at 12:50: Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that Russians destroyed the school and killed at least two teachers. Their bodies were recovered by a search and rescue crew. Three more people were injured. There is information that two more employees of the institution are under the rubble. The search and rescue operation is ongoing.

Update at 14:21: The death toll has risen to four people. Rescuers recovered the bodies of the school principal, the deputy principal secretary and the librarian. The rubble removal operation has been completed.

Quote from Klymenko: "Additionally, four residents who were passing by the educational institution at the time of the strike were injured. There is a surviving entrance to the shelter among the ruins of the school in the photo. Unfortunately, people did not go down to a safe place during the alarm."
