Yurii Ihnat, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, has said that the missiles Russia fired on Ukraine on 5 August could have been launched from the Russian city of Tambov, flying through the territory of Belarus.

Quote from Ihnat: "There may have been a launch from a MiG-31 from Tambov Oblast (Russia).

And the missiles could have flown through the territory of Belarus. This information is currently being confirmed.

But the flight of the air targets was observed exactly through the territory of this state.

Basically, this was not the first time this has happened, so no surprise there."

Background:

Repelling Russian attacks from the evening of 5 August to the morning of 6 August, Ukraine's air defence forces destroyed 13 Kalibr cruise missiles, 17 Kh-101/Kh-555 and 27 Shahed-136/131 combat drones.

The Russians used a total of 70 projectiles in this missile attack.
