Russia attacks most actively on Avdiivka front where 27 assaults occurred – General Staff

On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 Russian attacks near the settlements of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka, and another 14 attacks in and around Sieverne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk Oblast over the past day.

Details: 78 combat clashes occurred over the past day. In total, the Russians launched 9 missile strikes and 128 airstrikes, also firing from multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas 77 times.

Russian terrorist attacks killed and injured civilians. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The Russian occupiers launched another airstrike at night, using 33 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Ukraine’s air defence destroyed 22 Russian drones.

The settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts suffered from airstrikes. 

Over 130 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russian forces are maintaining their military presence in the border areas, conducting intense sabotage activities in order to prevent the transfer of Ukrainian troops to vulnerable areas and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group on the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks near the settlement of Synkivka (Kharkiv Oblast).

On the Lyman front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 Russian attacks in and around Terny and Yampolivka (Donetsk Oblast) and five more attacks near Makiivka and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast).

On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian forces repelled eight Russian attacks in and around Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Donetsk Oblast).

In the area of responsibility of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group on the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders are continuing to deter the Russians who keep trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the defence, inflicting significant losses on the Russians. 

On the Marinka front, Ukrainian forces continued to deter the Russians in and around Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast), where 10 attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attack to the north of Novodonetske (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian forces did not conduct any offensive actions.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group on the Kherson front, Ukraine’s Defence Forces are continuing to conduct measures to expand their established bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the Russians did not abandon their attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. During the past day, they made six unsuccessful assault actions on positions of the Ukrainian troops in that area.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict casualties on the Russian occupying forces in manpower and equipment, exhausting the Russians along the entire front line.

During the past day, Ukraine's Air Force struck seven areas where Russian manpower, weapons and equipment were concentrated, a command post and five anti-aircraft systems belonging to the Russians. In addition, Ukraine’s air defence forces destroyed a Russian Kh-59 air-to-surface missile.

Units from Rocket Forces and Artillery hit two command posts, a cluster of Russian military personnel, three radar stations, two air defence systems, two artillery systems and two ammunition storage points.
