According to the Directorate: "The place our pilots were being detained in was changed several times, and finally they were taken to a pre-trial detention centre in Kursk, where they were kept in a cell with eight other Ukrainian officers. Pepeliashko said that despite serious injuries, most Ukrainians do not receive basic medical care in the pre-trial detention centre.

‘They really are zombies! They asked us if there were many Nazis in Ukraine,’ Pepeliashko said. ‘They insist that they want to liberate Ukraine from Nazis. That we will soon live in one country again, and Halychyna will be reclaimed by Poland. Just totally f***ed…’"

Details: The pilots are in hospital and are receiving medical care.

It is not known at this point how they were freed.
