Ukrainian forces disrupt Russia's plans to gain foothold in urban area of Vovchansk – General Staff
Ukraine’s Defence Forces have disrupted Russia’s plans to drive a wedge into the built-up area of the city of Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast and gain a foothold there, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported.

Quote: "Since the beginning of the enemy’s offensive actions on 10 May 2024 on the Kharkiv front, the Defence Forces of Ukraine have forced the Russians to significantly decrease the intensity of their actions. The enemy’s plans to drive a wedge as deeply as possible into the built-up area of Vovchansk and gain a foothold there have been disrupted. Since the beginning of the day, our units have continued to perform combat actions in the built-up area of Vovchansk in the northern part of the city and kept the enemy under fire control. Combat action is ongoing, and the situation is under control."
Details: 23 combat clashes have occurred since the beginning of the day. The Russians have launched two missile attacks, four airstrikes using eight guided aerial bombs and 48 attacks with kamikaze drones, as well as 564 attacks on Ukrainian positions.
On the Kupiansk front, the Russians, supported by armoured vehicles, are attempting to attack Ukrainian positions on the Krokhmalne-Berestove axis.
On the Siversk front, the Russians conducted one attack on the Vesele-Zvanivka axis. There have been no changes to the position of Ukrainian forces. Fighting is ongoing on the Yakovlivka-Rozdolivka axis.
On the Kramatorsk front, the Russians made three attempts to breach Ukrainian defences on the Bakhmut-Klishchiivka and Bakhmut-Andriivka axes, but to no avail.
On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian forces repelled three Russian attacks on the Vodiane-Netailove and Pervomaiske-Netailove fronts. Fighting is ongoing. The situation is under control.
On the Kurakhove front, the Russians launched three attacks on the Vodiane-Netailove and Slavne-Novomykhailivka axes.
On the Vremivka front, the Russians launched three attacks on the Staromlynivka-Urozhaine and Zavitne Bazhannia-Staromaiorske axes, but to no avail.
On the Prydniprovske front, the Russians have not given up their attempts to dislodge Ukrainian forces from the left bank of the Dnipro River.
