4 buses evacuate people from Mariupol

4 evacuation buses managed to evacuate civilians from Mariupol on 20 April along the humanitarian corridor. Evacuation will continue on 21 April.

According to Vereshchuk: "Yesterday four evacuation buses managed to leave the city along the humanitarian corridor. They spent the night in Berdiansk and are heading for Vasylkivka now. We expect them in Zaporizhzhia soon."

Details: Vereshchuk added that on 21 the evacuation of women, children, and the elderly from Mariupol will continue.

The assembly point is at the roundabout in front of the Port-City shopping mall, on Shevchenko Boulevard, at 14:00.

Vereshchuk warned that it is difficult to guarantee the safety and security of the evacuation effort, so there might be changes. She urged Mariupol residents to follow official reports.

Background:

  • On the morning of 20 April Vereshchuk said that a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol would open that afternoon, allowing women with children and the elderly to evacuate via Manhush and Berdiansk.
