Zelenskyy has arrived in Bucha

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Bucha, where evidence of mass murders of Ukrainian civilians by the Russians was found.

Details: According to journalists, Zelenskyy "has inspected the road with the destroyed Russian equipment and talked to the locals."

The President stated that Russia had committed war crimes and genocide in Ukraine.

When asked by a journalist if the President still considered it possible to discuss peace with Russia, he said yes.

Quote by Zelenskyy: "Yes, because Ukraine has to get peace. We are in 21st century Europe. We will continue our diplomatic and military efforts. "

More details: The head of Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk and deputies also have visited the liberated territories of the Kyiv region.

Background: 

  • On April 1, Bucha was liberated from the Russian occupiers. On April 2, the Mayor of Bucha Anatolii Fedoruk announced that nearly 300 citizens had been buried in mass graves, and that dozens of corpses were in the streets, some with their hands tied. As of the morning of April 4, 330-340 civilians killed by Russians in Bucha were buried.
  • On April 3, the Prosecutor General announced that 410 bodies of killed civilians had been taken to be examined by forensic experts from the territory of Kyiv region, which had been liberated from the occupiers.
