President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that the longer Russia delays the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, the worse it will be for Russia.

Quote by Zelenskyy:

"The longer the Russian Federation delays the meeting, the worse it is for them, and in general for this war. Because every day our troops liberate certain territories, you see what is happening. It is very difficult to talk when you see what they (the Russians -ed.) have done here.

Every day people are found in barrels, in cellars, strangled and simply tortured. Therefore, I believe that they (the Russians - ed.) need to think faster if they have something to think with."

Background:

  • After Bucha's liberation, the truth about the atrocities of the occupiers began to unfold in the Kyiv region. In particular, the bodies of almost 300 people were found in mass graves in the city, and dozens of corpses were found in the streets, some of them with their hands tied.
  • On April 3, the Prosecutor General announced that 410 bodies of murdered civilians had been taken from the territory of Kyiv region, which had been liberated from the occupiers. The victims’bodies were being examined by forensic experts to document Russia's crimes.
  • The Russian Defence Ministry is not admitting that atrocities were committed by its military in Bucha, Kyiv region, and insists that no local residents suffered from violence during the occupation of the city.
  • On the morning of April 4, a funeral provider reported that 330-340 Russian civilians had been buried in Bucha, which had been liberated from the occupiers.
