Mykolaiv: 12 people killed and dozens injured in Russian shelling

12 people were killed and 41 wounded, including four children as a result of Russian shelling of Mykolaiv on Monday, April 4.

Quote: "According to the investigation, on 4 April 2022, the Russian occupiers fired on the civilian population in the city of Mykolaiv. The explosions of shells damaged civilian houses and vehicles, as well as civilian infrastructure, including hospitals."

Details: In the afternoon of 4 April the Russian occupiers fired on Mykolaiv with cluster shells.

A pre-trial investigation as part of criminal proceedings related to violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was launched under the procedural guidance of the District Prosecutor's Office of Mykolaiv.

Background: The head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, has published video footage from surveillance cameras which shows a Russian shell hitting the courtyard of a children's hospital.
