Cluster shells explode near a Mykolaiv bus stop: fatalities reported


Several citizens – some standing at a transit stop and others sitting in a minibus – were killed by cluster shells in Mykolaiv.

Details: Cluster shells fired into the city by Russian troops exploded near a bus stop and on the road in a busy area. Many people standing at the bus stop and sitting in a minibus were injured by shrapnel that flew in all directions. Several people died on the spot.

Significant damage can also be seen on cars and buildings around.

At 15:44, mayor Senkevych reported that Russian forces launched cluster shells around the city.

Background: Earlier in the afternoon of 4 April, a Russian missile hit a factory on the outskirts of Mykolaiv, causing a large explosion and eliminating the capacities of the enterprise.

On 3 April, there were several missile attacks on Mykolaiv. Authorities did not report the location of the explosions.
Later the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration Vitaliy Kim reported that 1 person was dead, and 11 were hospitalized with injuries as a result of a missile strike in the afternoon of 3 April. A 15-year-old suffered injuries of moderate severity.
