Kherson region: no-one able to find mayor abducted by Russians for two months now

Oleksandr Babych, the mayor of Hola Prystan in the Kherson region, has been held captive for two months. The Russian occupiers "detained" him back on 28 March, and his whereabouts remains unknown.

Details: Sokov urged the authorities and the international community to make efforts to recover Babych from Russian captivity.

Quote from Sokov: "Oleksandr Babych, the mayor of Hola Prystan, has been in Russian captivity for 2 months. There has been no news of him since 28 March.

I appeal to representatives of the authorities at different levels and the international community to use all possible mechanisms for the return of this official! The abduction of Oleksandr Babych is a tragedy not only for his family, but also for every resident of the hromada [Amalgamated Territorial Community – ed.] of Hola Prystan! Please help!"

Background: Babych's abduction had been previously reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

In addition, it is known that the Russian military has abducted 8 people, including several representatives of the local authorities, in Hola Prystan.
