Oleksii Danilov, the secretary of The National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, emphasised that the only resources the Russian aggressor needs is those that will suffice to pay reparations to Ukraine.

Details: Danilov reacted to the controversial claim by Valentina Matvienko, a spokesperson of the Russian Federation Council, that Russia "has enough resources to end the war in Ukraine with victory".

Danilov advised Russians to save money to pay reparations to Ukraine for its destroyed infrastructure, to cover the costs of the burial of Russian soldiers, hundreds of whom are being killed daily by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the future legal proceedings at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Quote: "To Valentina Matvienko. To a ‘slave, a toady, filth of Moscow’ [alluding to a line from a poem by Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko], a person without honour, cursed by their Motherland, who should remember: only one resource [is needed and] should be enough for Russia to pay reparations and contributions to Ukraine, for mass burials of its soldiers and a just sentence at the Hague tribunal".
